Cape Trafalgar #

Headland in the Province of Cadiz, southwest Spain, on the Atlantic shore northwest of the Strait of Gibraltar.

Name #

From Arabic taraf al-ghar, meaning "cape of the cave."

Significance #

The cape gave its name to the 1805 naval battle fought just offshore and indirectly to Trafalgar Square in London, which commemorates that battle.
